Accomplishments

The year was busy for the team of President Arcega and the Board of Directors. First in the list are the accreditation visits conducted during the years such as but not limited to, the following: October 5-7, 2016 – Accreditation visit (candidate status) at City College of Calamba headed by Dr. Rene Colocar; November 21-23, 2016 – Accreditation visit at Monkayo College of Agriculture, Sciences and Technology headed by Dr. Rene Colocar; December 1-3, 2016 – Accreditation visit (preliminary visit) at Gordon College headed by Dr. Rene Colocar; March 6-8, 2017 – Accreditation visit (preliminary visit) at Trece Martires City College headed by Dr. Elizabeth Montero.

Trece Martires City College

March 6-8, 2017

Last March 6-8, 2017 a contigent from ALCUCOA visited the Trece Martires City College in order to conduct preliminary visit for its five academic program offerings (BSE English, BSE Filipino, BSE Mathematics, BS SPED, and BSCED). The team was headed by the amicable Dr. Elizabeth Montero (she was also assigned as a program accreditor) and assisting her are the other program accreditors namely Dr. Rebecca Tolentino, Dr. Elvira Montero, and Dr. Elsa Encabo. Prof. Alicia Paraiso was given opportunity to review Area VII on library. Ms. Kristine Mendoza was assigned to give technical assitance to the group for the said visit.

ALCUCOA is the accreditation agency of local government universities and colleges. It was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on December 9, 2003.

ALCUCOA is a founding member of the National Network of Quality Assurance Agencies (NNQAA) registered with SEC on January 8, 2004 together with AACUP, the accreditation agency of state universities and colleges. It is a member of the Coordinating Council for Accreditation composed of accrediting agencies for private and government HEI’s created on January 19, 2009. It was an active partner of ALCU during the Employment Summit held on March 5 & 6, 2009 with the theme “Activating Academe-Industry Network for Employability and Entrepreneurship together with the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) and the University of Makati.
